Free Art Friday Atlanta

Free Art Friday Atlanta Documentary (#FAFATL)

Unbeknownst to many, there is a growing community of extraordinary people in Atlanta who every week freely give away a piece or two of their artwork in the hopes of brightening another person’s day. Our short documentary profiles a few of the artists from this community who’s lives have been changed for the better because of the phenomenon known as Free Art Friday.

Directors Statement

Free Art Friday has been a part of my life for almost three years now. On the surface level, FAF looks like a simple scavenger hunt for free art. But it’s far more than that. It is a phenomenon. A world-wide phenomenon that has had great positive impact in the lives of those who participate.

For me, it has helped me feel connected to the city of Atlanta, given me an amazing circle of friends, and a renewed sense of purpose in what it is I really want to do with my life. Many of the artists I’ve met through Free Art Friday Atlanta (#fafatl) were inspired by another artist to come be apart of the community. Making and dropping art is their way of giving back. This short documentary is my way of giving back.
